Anyone catch any this week?
Hoping to go this weekend somewhere.
don’t know about combahee but we are killing them on murray.took my son out tuesday fish were thick.stripers and crappie.9 stripers and 23 crappie kept only enough to eat.6 people.will be out this weekend fri sat sun mon.crappie were caught on minnows stripers were caught on bucktails working the birds.when the birds move to a different school stay and fish little while after the other boats move on.it will pay off.

from big man’s to clouds creek will probably be in a blue sylvan center console sat older model 18ft with 115merc.give me a shout.

Caught four stripes in three hours right around Dreher Island. Missed another 6-8.
They strike short this time of year. I’m gonna start rigging up a stinger hook!!!
What were you using, jig/grub combo or livebait?

fished today from big mans down to the jug hole. caught three, one throwback and 2 keepers 22" & 26". the two keepers came out of the clearer water towards the jug hole fishin bluebacks on boards.

fished the gap today no keeper stripers. plenty of short fish 10 largemouth bass 3-6lbs1 crappie 2lbs and 19 perch the biggest 1lb.all were caught on jigging spoons from 40-60ft of water.and one ugly 17lb blue catfish.fished yesterday around big mans bridge water was very muddy 5 catfish were caught on down rods.
I think we will fish around Clouds Creek.
Where should we put in? Maybe Dreher Island?
Can we buy herring or shiners near there?

if you don’t mind driving put in at big mans or the boy scout camp.big mans sells shiners.there should be someone selling bait at the ramp at dreher not sure if george or david will be there but one will.its probably going to be muddy.if yougo good luck.
Finally getting out there. Looks like it will be windy. We’ll try to stay in the coves or mouth of coves…to stay out of the wind/waves.
Where is big man’s? Is that up the saluda?
What time of day is best in the winter? We used to fish morning and early evening. The tables say 4pm - 6pm or 4am-6am.
red, big mans is the same as little river marina off of hwy 391. I believe the time of day you fish is not a very impotant factor this time of year. as far a bait goes i would suggest going to lake world they got some beautiful monster bluebacks right now perfect for those giant stripers, just be sure to have some kind of aerated baitwell. good fishing.
