Come on folks why is no one posting

This site used to be a great resourse to find out how the shrimping was going just a few years ago but the last several years its been radio silent. I guess all the diehard shrimpers want to defend their terriorty and not share the abundance with others. If I am wrong PROVE ME WRONG

Hey Mr. 80. I haven’t been yet this season.

I agree, folks tending to keeping “mums the word” on their shrimping adventures more so over the last few years. My best friend (My Wife) and I generally do a decent job of it although we really only get to go for one week a season. Hitting it next week!

St. Helena is pretty big so come on out and get yourself a cooler. Generally put up enough over the week to last for once a week for the year.

The Sound is a little rough sometimes but a day trip can produce as well if the water is dirty enough.

Hope to see you out there. Full net pulls to you Sir.

Honestly, a few years ago I just kind of lost interest going out to crab bank until midnight and not getting home until 2am. I don’t know how to maneuver bulls bay or know of any other good daytime spots. I’ll chime in if i find one though.

I posted shrimping all my trips since I’ve been a member. I noticed the same across all the forums here just by looking. Simple ex. Swap and shop. I think with the emergence of another similar named website that seems to have the majority of the traffic that the tide has changed.

I remember when this forum was popping hot and once upon a time there would be meets for everyone to put a face with a keyboard. but man now, super quiet! I myself haven’t been shrimping in two years. my trailer fell apart and so did my shoulder! lol but when my wife and I started about 15 -20 years ago we could poke our head just outside of Anderson creek and fill a box. I haven’t seen them like that in years

That’s my guess anyway.

It’s a sad but true fact

I’ve never been shrimping, so no experience, but forums in general as EF1 has mentioned are not as popular as they used to be because of the “social media” sites. Plus, folks have become more secretive about their “spots” for anything, hunting, fishing etc. Used to be many would share information, but far less will now. There’s now too many folks in society that will not spend any time seeking out places on their own, because it’s easier and faster to find them mentioned online, and just go there. I’m sure if you fish, and been out in a boat, and caught fish, next thing you know someone else is coming into your spot, because they saw you catching. That’s a common complaint now on all kinds of waters. A place gets a mention, and next thing it’s crowded with people. Sad, but that’s how it is. I moderate and Admin on some fishing related forums that are still active, and most now have rules against “spot burning” because it’s gotten so bad. It’s a shame that folks want information, and such as here, there’s folks who will share it, but then there’s those who abuse it too. It’s this wonderful technology world we live in, where too many want instant gratification about everything. And yes, that’s an old guys perspective, and probably a lot of us as we get older, are less inclined to be around a lot of people. Unfortunately too, many are stupid people! I’m happy to share things I’ve learned, but I don’t give out specific spots either, only general places for folks to go. :slightly_smiling_face:

It has been raining and flooding so the only action is for the die hard boys wanting to push pole through the flats in rain drops.

That sounds like my kinda fishing.

i ain bin skrumpin for a gud many yeers now. E ain like it uzed to b. I bin deep holin a cuple times, but ain da same.

Bozo? He still roun? I ain seen him n a bit. I spoke wit him frum time 2 time, but ain seen em in purson… I be fo think he iz one of dem AI peeple.

I did the Crab Bank nighttime shrimping for a while but the back and forth from Columbia was brutal. Started shrimping in BB and found that to be a lot easier and far less taxing. I have not been shrimping in a few years now. Honestly, the boat is dry rotting in the driveway, and I just haven’t found the time to get it back on the water. My own fault but I hope to do better next year when I retire at some point.

Overall, it does seem like far less people post here anymore. I haven’t been fishing so I have nothing there to share. I do see quite a few of the “older” folks seem to be missing and some were run off back in the day when some folks were just too ■■■■ snarky.

Tell Bonzo I said “Hey” (and Peapod too) if anyone sees them.

Twice a month i go down to"The big house" where Peepad will be for the next 5-7. Maybe less depending on his behavior.

Ill send him your best.

Always good to see you out there, Rap.
Bonzo still keeps a pulse around here, even on PeePod and RickyBobby.
Water is getting cooler, check your typical deephole spots, harbor, creeks and Bulls.
Hey DFreedom, miss you, Doug, hope the boys and K are well.
How is Barbawang not president of CF.com scientific community yet? He deserves it.
Aging in Reverse classes have been thrown over to EF…he’s the expert.

That position was abolished when CAC tried to steal the election a couple of decades ago.

But Bwang would get my vote!

I get a little better every day. Got the hell knocked out of me in a truck wreck back in Feb. Doc said it would take me a year to get over it all. Boat has been sitting on the lift ever since. Hope to be back out there by the end of the year. Then I can start bragging about all the BIG fish I will be catching!

I don’t know where you are, but if you need help with something, Id be glad to help. Sorry to hear about your injury. I didn’t know.

Seriously, reach out of you need something. Even if it’s just getting the boat off the lift and to the house for maintenance. I know it’s a lot of physical effort.
