Coming down from the Mountains

Hey y’all, a couple of buddies and I are coming down from Asheville to do some paddling/camping on the north end of Capers. I’d like to get up into Bull’s Bay to do some fishing. Any suggestions on where to fish, etc. would be appreciated.

There is some obvious structure close to where you are camping that has been good to me. Also, just behind that area in a creek is some bars stickin out of the mud at low-mid tide, nice spot.

Any idea of what the temperature drop that’s forecast for this weekend might do to the fish? What kind of tackle would you recommend?

I believe the temp will slow the bite… I use a splitshot and hook most of the time. Let me know when you are gonna be there, I might want to paddle out and enjoy the fire. don’t forget the permit. Also, there is some public oyster grounds near there if ya’ll like oysters.

Cutmullet,

We’ll be arriving in Isle of Palms on Friday night and launching from the marina around noon on Saturday to ride the tide out. Checking the weather reports shows that we’ll probably have some rain and wind to deal with so we might end up camping on the south end to take advantage of the cover there. We’ll have 3 or 4 glass Impex kayaks, you’d be welcome to share our fire. We pulled our permit yesterday.

nc steve if you run into any trouble weather wise and need some help getting back to the marina feel free to call me. If you want my number just ask or email me and I will send itto you. Not going to post it here though. I keep my boat at the IOP marina and don’t mind helping if you need it.

South end, you might want to bring a surf rod or 2 and take a walk?,if wind is “right”… (But good call, considering the weather)
In true southern tradition, call me also is ya need help. 4343405 pg. good tents and slp.bags, I hope! bug spray, tinfoil and butter! onions and peppers to go w/ oysters and fsih/ steak…mmmmm…
