Yak fishing is good around bowens Island (folly Creek) before folly beach, usually calm and a lot of options in a small area, work docks creek mouths and marsh lines. Backmens seafood docks hold fish the dock just past backmens is usually productive theres a barge in the creek called Kings flats which is also a good area all are within a mile from bowens. and the grass line on folly creek heading toward robins creek is good for trout and bass when the tide is up. I would bring to rods one for shrimp and mud minnows as stated and the other for finger mullet or crab flat lined off the back and you will have a better chance of catching a big red or stingray that will give you a fun fight and ride. Folly river toward the light house has good fishing also particularly the last few docks by the curve about a mile and a half from the landing toward the light house. Cast under the docks by the by the dock polls, I’ve fished there and a few inchses/feet really makes a difference 5 to 10 feet away and you won’t catch much if any, put it right under the dock and close to pilings and it usually is productive. Also mix it up and use a Carolina rig if your in a good area and not getting anything and if you catch a small whiting, croaker, pinfish/sailors choice hook it just bellow the dorsal fin and set it in the rod holder with the drag set and fish the other rod while you wait for the big one.

thank you for the information. yeah i would really like to catch some reds if i’m lucky.

Bohickett Creek has been pretty good on the kayak. A bit of a haul, but worth it. Put in at the Cherry Point boat landing. Find a nice creek and fish on!
