compared to last year

Where are the FISH ?? …it seems like there were a lot more posts of fish being caught last year…has the economy taken its toll on us poor fisherman !?Sharkey, steelytom, phisinfan(nice catch phishinfan)…Is it just that we are not getting out as much ??I wonder…where is that rich kid(A-hole) that posted an over the limit catch on his stamped concrete floor last year ?..was last year a fluke ? …or is everyone just trying to keep thier spots seceret ?

I went back and looked at the photos from the post you are talking about. Guys like that are the first ones to ***** about lack of fish too but DNR catches up to them sooner or later. Hopefully sooner. I didn’t start fishing Murray until March of 07’ and I was a striper idiot then so I can’t coment about the catch differances from last year. I have been marking a lot of fish every time I have gone out but have not been too lucky in getting the feeding time right. What was a sure thing over the summer no longer works and I have been forced to change tactics. I have talked with some old timers (years on Murray, not years of age) and they have commented on the increase in boats over the last ten years so maybe the fishing pressure is just getting to much. I know I am ranting but I had some time to kill tonight, sorry. I am planning on going out tomorrow and as always, will post the results. Hope it helps.

How can I find it ?

In the top right corner there is a drop down menu for posts. Change it to show “All posts from the last year”. Go to the last page (page 9) and click on, I think it was “Fishing the gap” or something about the gap. That is how I found the post you were talking about, once I seen all the fish, I asumed that was the oned youy were talking about.

I have only gone out twice since October and have only caught one catfish. One of those times I went night fishing a few weeks ago in high winds and heavy rain. That was the night we got 2" of rain. This is only my second year of fishing Murray and I struggled last year until March. Since phishinphan is heading out with family, I plan on working on the boat. I have everything I need, I just need to do it. Then find the time to use it.

the weather has not been the greatest for striper fishing.that is for me.i’m not one of these fair weather fisherman.we need a week of cold wweather high 40 daytime and some 25-30 degrees nights.there has been fish caught but not the quality that was caught last year this time.i have been doing really well with the catfish, justwaiting on the cold nights to start really striper fishing.

Man anyone that’s fished for any amount of time over five years *****es about increased pressure!!!

I’m not complaining about lack of fish. I catch plenty. I thought gill netting was legal?

Maybe it is the weather. I have not been out a lot, but it seems like they are scattered.

Sharky, stop trying to talk that cold weather up. It will be here soon enough.

whippingpost the way the weather is looking it will be this week.i’m ready.just think i finish your house tuesday and fish the rest of the week and weekend.i’ll make sure to ride by your dock and yell as loud as i can for you to see the onesthat came out of YOUR COVE.

tag-a-long …were are you catching “plenty” ? …and on what?

Up until this year, I was a “regular” on Lake Murray trolling u-rigs with much success. This year, I have been remodeling my lake place and just have not had the time to fish and have not fished since March 16th until this past Friday, the 28th. Trolled for 2 hours and caught 2 shorts (20 1/2") although I marked plenty of fish in the 30 to 40 feet depth. I may try again today for a couple of hours and then back to the remodeling grind. Hopefully, by summer, I can be a regular again.
