If you could completely re-outfit your boat for offshore fishing off of Charleston what would you go with? Rods and Reels? Asking out of curiosity.
6 Tiagra 50 W on bent butts and 6 new Avet reels on a bada$$ looking rod. Haven’t researched much for bottom fishing rigs but always like the avets. Currently the minagerie of rods I use for bottom work just fine.

That’s a loaded question. There are a million different ways to go. But it depends on what you would want to spend an how you wanted to fish.
I would do 2 Penn International 16’s, 2 30’s, 2 50’s, half a dozen avet jigging reels, and maybe 2 or 3 Shimano Stella Sw for pitching live baits and stuff.

Seriously though we at least need to know boat size,fishing method and targeted species to make a semi-educated suggestion. I mean if you are trolling for billfish that is a totally different need than if you want to bottom fish… if a 23 foot bay boat you have room for 5 or 6 rods but if you have a 60 foot Viking you might want 30 rods…
