Confused

Left launch fine for 300 yards then lost rpm and power at high end. Checked compression good on all 6 cylinders at 105 it’s a mercury 135. Checked spark good on all 6 changed plugs. Changed water pump do to being unsure of what to do at this point. Left launch same thing good for 300 yards and fell off again. Not sure where to look next thinking fuel pump. When running trying to figure out what was wrong tried pumping bulb but did not help. I am at a lost

Does it have a power pack?

does squeezing the primer ball help while this is happening? I wonder if you have a collapsed fuel line.

Sounds like a fuel delivery problems. Check fuel lines, water separator, and fuel filters.

Being superstitious is bad luck.

need more info
what year is the motor
is it carbed
EFI
DFI
sounds like motor is going into rpm reduction

Update it’s 94 mercury black cat v6 with 3 carbs. Pumped some fuel thru line into a glass jar, it is full of thrash looks like possible rubber from lines.

Sorry yes has power pack and no squeezing bulb does not help. Oh it’s a 94 mercury 135 black cat.

I am assuming the lines are breaking down and I am seeing pieces of rubber. So prolly replace all fuel lines, add a fuel water separator, pull fuel pump, clean or replace, and pull all carbs clean and reassemble, and replace filter and fuel lines on motor too. Not sure if need to replace fuel tank.

And only use non ethanol gas…

Should I do parts of this at a time and check or just move forward with all of it

definitely sounds carb related

Removed and replaced fuel and fuel lines added a water separator. Runs great on hose took to water only managed 3500 rpm won’t come up on plane. Boat is a 18 foot pro craft fish and ski. Going to pull plugs clean them, change fuel filter that I changed when problem first started and see what I get. If nothing changes prolly be looking for a shop.

fully disassemble and clean your carbs. Sounds like you have trash in them and the only way to remove it is to break down the carbs and clean them. I’ve had your exact problem more then once. Im sure you could find numerous videos online showing you how to do your carbs, its not that difficult at all. good luck

Keep in mind, While you are tinkering with it and testing, only to get the same results (starving for fuel) you are also starving it for oil.
Those carb motors can’t take being starved for oil very long.
I’ve always rebuilt the carbs on my small motors myself. They aren’t as expensive to replace if I screw it up. However; I always would take my big motors to a professional to have the carbs cleaned or rebuilt because I wanted to make sure it was done right. Kinda hard to shell out the money to replace a V6.

Just sayin…
