Congaree

It’s on. And from the pics I have seen this may be a year like the ones we were having 15 years ago.

I’m trying to get to 601 bridge this afternoon to give them a shot, but this line of T-Storms we got headed at us is gonna mess the timing up.If it’ll speed up just a little I may give them a try and send some form of report.

Are the fish in Columbia yet ?

2nd hand Friday report FWIW.

Below I/77 bridge a dozen
Stripers one 27", all on Artie’s

Just as an FYI, I camped out of 601 Friday. Water temp was up to 65 when we dropped the boat in Friday afternoon and waa down to 61 the next morning. The river is well back in the banks, was clear and more or less debris-free. We went up to the big sandbar on the left. Put out 6 rods with cut herring. Fished them for 4 hours Friday and 4 hours on Saturday morning. Not the first bite. No catfish, no stripers, not even a gar. Everytime I would freshen up bait, all the baits were still hanging. Saw some decent surface activity at dawn on Saturday. The striper puzzle still confounds me on the Santee/Wateree Rivers.
