Control Box T/T Switch is shot

When I turn on the batteries, the T/T comes on going down. If I hold the t/t switch in the control box handle ‘up’, t/t stops. Obviously, OMC doesn’t know how to make a switch. This one only lasted 15 years and many thousands of cycles. /sarc

So…

After some interwebs searching, I can’t find parts for the control box. Can anyone point to a source for parts for a 15 year old Johnson control box?

Or, an appropriate switch to just mount on the dash? 'Easy enough to pull the wires from the control box and run them to a 2 position (or, is that a 3 position?) switch on the dash. Easy to reach and use while running.

2 position momentary switch. Been there, done that. Make sure its not in the wire harness.

call john at hanckel. he can get you a mercury switch that will fit, but you need to be a bit creative with some epoxy to adjust the final shape and keep it in [place

I had the same problem with my 02 Johnson. Mounted a 2 button (one for up one for down) switch on the Throttle arm with epoxy. Doesn’t look half bad and works really well. Actually more ergonomic to use than the orginal.
