A pro tip from sellsfish made me a happy camper. Fished from 8-2. Managed to land my first sheepshead as the first fish on my new conflict. Ended up catchin 3 keepers and maybe ten total.

niiiiiice sniper… and what they don’t tell you about convicts… they’re contagious. I loooove reds slamming a bottom line but my other “fix” is setting the hook on a “slight nibble or movement” only to have the rod feel like an anvil caught the hook when dropped off a 5 story building.
haha thats an awesome description there!!! Now is it me or do they seem to fight fight give up where a red will just tire himself out? i was fishin braid and had the drag hammered cause for some reason i dont like getting cut off so it could have been that
Sniper they like to fight. Hooked one at Edisto a couple years back that wasn’t having any part of leaving the water. Was next to a pier and had to put the rod in the water. Had to get around the motor and to the other side of the boat and pull him away from the piling. Every time that joker came to the surface it would make a run for somewhere else. had to keep bumping the drag to finally get control. I’ll pm you a way that will make it even more fun for ya.
