Cooper River Cats

Been after the wife to get up and fish and finally she did. I planned on targeting catfish since they have been so active my last few times out and wasn’t disappointed. Of course the wife out fished me as usual with a 10lb, 6lb and 17" flounder. The flounder went in the live well and the cats were released after my wife apologized for catching the fish. She kept talking to the fish and told me to release the flounder after an hour in the live-well, it went free with no harm.
Great day on the water, but no fillets. Just a bunch of I’m sorry to the fish.

Caught any real good cats yet? I usually do real good bout this time of year on the 30 to 40 pounders. My ususal spot is not producing like it has in years past…

no big cats yet this year, just good eating size. The biggest that I’ve ever had from my “cat” hole is 45 lb followed by a 25 lb minutes later. A friend that used to target big cats liked to drift and bottom-bump the center river channel with great success. Not sure but I think his best was over 50.
