What is some of the other fish I could be fishing for in the cooper river? I have been catching reds and trout on d.o.a. and minows,but what else can I catch there.and with what bait?

Pungo 120You can add flounder to that as well. A little way upriver from Bushy Park you can fish for largemouth bass, bream, crappie, and occasionally striped bass. There are some really big blue catfish up there also. In the area around the powerlines up from Bushy Park a few miles, I’ve caught largemouth bass, spottail bass, and flounder in the same spot with the same Carolina Rig with an 8" pumpkinseed powerbait worm. There are also quite a few longnose gar mixed in there as well. The freshwater fish go pretty far into the saltwater areas and the saltwater fish go a lot farther upriver than you would think. I caught a nice striper very close to the saltwater landing at Bushy Park last year on a 3" Gulp shrimp on a jig head. Good luck.
