Nice job on the spot! What kind of yak do you have? Any advice on a good boat?
Thanks,

I fish the pungo 140 (14ft sit-in-kayak). Most of the new yaks are good/ great boats for the right application. Fishing ponds, lakes, rivers, sounds… are all considerations. Are you going to tour (long paddles), or maybe camp out of it? Mostly in the winter or summer?
As soon as you buy one, you’ll wish you bought a different one:smiley:. That’s my experience on all 3 of my kayaks.
All I am going to with my future kayak is fish out of it. I go down to the flats in Port Charlotte, FL a lot, which means paddling a couple of miles to really get into the shallow stuff where the other boats can’t go. I would like to fish the Wando and Backcountry around Charleston and Edisto. I am thinking of the Wilderness Tarpon 12 and 14, or the Heritage Redfish. All are sit on tops and the reviews say all trac well and are stable. The Redfish doesn’t have as much storage as the Tarpon, but seems to be a little faster. Do you feel like you need a lot of storage when your out there on the water? Any thoughts on kayaks or suggestions of one I haven’t heard of? Any help would be great!! Thanks Cutmullet
