Cooper river

Mud and I explored some new water today. The hookup/ land ratio wasn’t what we would have hoped but did boat 3 nice keeper trout, lost a few spottails in serious structure. Found houndreds of minnows way up a creek in inches of water and feets of pluff mud (nasty work via kayak).
I know it don’t look like it, but this one was tight to 21" Great weather… might have to do it again soon:wink:

nice fish! =]

Should have joined you…

Instead, I went out with two of the locals, to some new water for all of us… Found some great fishy looking water, that gets little pressure due to its distance from boat landings, shallowness with lots of oysters, and the fact that the main access to it, Archers Creek, is closed most of the time…

Semperfish caught three Seatrout last I heard, all around 16". I caught one mini-flounder, 10 or 11 inches in length on the way back in.

Over all, I covered about 8 miles of water, and spent 7 hours on the water… Semperfish and James weer still fishing after I called it a day.

Those who can’t fish, spend too much on seafood!

7 hrs… , thats got to be a new record for you:smiley:

Hahahaha… Funny Man…

You have never been fishing with me in Alaska.

You know as well as I do, that he tides here play a HUGE part in the fishing. Why fish when the only thing biting is the sand fleas?

Hey man… just kidding.
When is the date of fall BARF 2009? I need to reserve a campsite.

Whatever date you get the campsite for… This year it will be a month long tourney, with photo’s submitted daily. Whenever you are camping is when we will have an informal gathering at Huinting Island for those who want to show up and eat Frogmore…

No T-shirts, no tourney dinner… Just early registration, so you can receive a official ruler and token, and a whole month to try to land the largest total slam… Doesn’t have to be in any single day either…

Sure it favors those who can get out the most, but with the lackluster participation last year, I am not going to continue to lose money trying to organize a single weekend event.

Cut don’t worry about giving Troy a hard time; I do it all the time. After all what are friends for!

He does do a great job with the Frogmore and all the time he puts into the BARF, just could not believe we did not have more people fishing last year. The weather was great the fishing was good, the Grand Prize was something I had hoped to win. Troy did his part for a great BARF just not sure what happened to everyone else.

Eagles may soar, but weasels never get sucked into jet air intakes

Thanks for the morale support James…

Can’t say I didn’t give it the best effort possible…

Suffice it to say, losing money every year on the fall tourney is cutting into my trips to Alaska… I have my priorities…
