Anyone here know anything about fishing the Coosawhatchie up near I-95? It sure is a pretty little river and I.d love to try it one day,

It’s terrible, no fish here, keep driving:smiley: Actually it’s one of the semi hidden beautiful places left. The Coosawhatchie runs into the Broad River and you have to launch out of one of the landings off of 462 and then run up river. The closest to I 95 is Dawsons Landing
Thanks for the comments. I.m go try it one day. I live bout 2 hours away but I think it would be worth the trip.

Much good fishing in that area. I like to put in at Greys Hill and run upriver. Have fished the rocky area by I95 several times but never really done much good, have had much better luck further downstream. Some of that area gets really shallow at low tide. IMO this is the best time of year to fish that area. Trout, spot tail, whiting, and flounder all biting good. This new moon tide has kind of messed it up, but still biting dead shrimp on the bottom, live shrimp under a cork, and I had some good luck with this grub laced with a tiny piece of shrimp. If fishing on the bottom crabs are really a pain right now… but no stingrays. I caught this flounder yesterday fishing with my son on this grub. Drift and fall fast retrieve with the current about 2 hours after high tide.

That area has really changed over the last 30 years! I remember fishing off the Burnt trussel with Mom and Dad, before it burnt. The old rumor I heard was some high school kids partying and building a fire on the bridge?
