My plan is to hit Copahee before low tide (12:08 Harbor) and fish until about 2pm (wind cooperating). Meeting a few others at the store (Time Out) at 9:15. Call me if you want to meet up, or just show up. 843 568 4962. If the tide or wind suck, I will probably go on over to Paradise Island landing and fish the same tides.
Fished with John yesterday around the low tide at Copahee. Couldn’t find any reds at low tide (Again!). Once the tide switched, the trout bite really started. Ended up with 5 really good size trout and a large lady fish all on mud minnows. The biggest trout went 20" and right at 3 pounds. Ladyfish was right at 3.5 lbs and put up a hell of a fight, complete with some good jumps. Most of the fish came on bottom rigs with light weight, two came on float rigs. Left the fish biting, but had to get back to James Island. Fish pics to follow.
I watched 5151 hook into a lady fish on Saturday but on its first jump it shook the hook. They fight like no other fish. Pound for pound they are one of the best.
Nice trout DD! and what is it “poor mans tarpon”. I love to catch them but alway have a hard time keeping them hooked.
again nice trout, bet that was good.

Poor Man’s Tarpon= Ladyfish (They jump and run and fight like a small tarpon)
A kick-ass fisherman named Danny Howard, who taught me as a youngin’ to fish for Reds out of Flamingo (in the Everglades National Park) said the same “thing you can’t beat a Lady Fish for Red fish bait”.
