Hi everyone. Moved in to the area recently, and got my kayak back from a friend the other day, so I took it out to the Copahee sound today. There were mullet everywhere as I was paddling out. As I was getting some bait ready (used cut menhaden) I looked in to the water in time to see a school of 20 or so red drum cruising by. After trying a few things I was able to catch 2 red drum, 22.5" and 20" that made it to the cooler, and an 11" flounder that swam away for another day. Not too bad for the first time fishing in the area.

I will be going again as soon as possible. If you see me out there in a large orange/yellow kayak I’m always ready to talk fishing and whatnot.

Excellent work. I put a red in the cooler this morning (only 16" but plenty for a great sandwich), and managed to catch some nice trout.

Nice report, that’s one of those spots that’s great to go to even if you don’t catch anything.

I kayak fish but that is not an area I have tried out yet. Will definitely check out one of these days. Good job!

Part of your hazing back there is the copahee stomp. Too busy will be along with instructions

I have dun that stomp several times with the Jon boat
