Copahee Sound, Again

Took my kayak out to the Copahee Sound again this afternoon. Used my cast net to get some mullet at the ramp before heading out. Got a 22.75" red drum using a popping cork. Saw a lot of reds along the oyster beds, but couldn’t get any more of them interested. All in all a pretty darn good afternoon.

I have heard a lot about trout being brought in. Is there a different kind of bait/ rig I should be using, or maybe a different area I should try out.

No you can use the same set up just look more to a creek mouth with current flowing into or out of and put the cork in the current so it will float with it and try and get it to hit the slack part of the current at a point or an oyster bed. The trout hang out in the slack water and ambush the bait as the current moves them into or out of the creek. Hope this helps.
