Copper River Sheepshead

I will be down the end of September to fish and I was talking to a friend about sheepshead fishing the jetties. He mentioned going up the copper river to a location above 526 if weather was rough in the harbor. I have never been much past the harbor bridge and so I do not know that area well. I am sure no one wants to post their spots but some direction would be helpful or maybe send me private message if possible. He also mentioned some nice flounder areas up there. Any direction would be appreciated.

Went on Saturday an they weren’t biting very well. Water temp is a little warm where I was so I’m going to wait for a cool down and try again. There are some very productive spots inshore, anywhere with barnacle growth would likely be a safe bet. The fall is an excellent time to fish for sheepies.

For navigating the Cooper, stay in the channels; there’s all sorts of crap in the water near Daniel Island usually. Its supposed to be marked, but if you aren’t paying attention, you could certainly run into some of it.

Thanks for the advice sailfish. I am hoping a cool front will come through before we arrive and turn on the fishing. Time will tell. And I meant Cooper… not copper.

I know where he is speaking of… Just haven’t fished it/them in a while. PM me for details.
