The captured media got it wrong. No telling how many people had already been infected in this country before China finally said something. A virus is just a plane flight / boat ride away…or a porous border.
The old and compromised are at risk. The Lt. Governor of Texas has been crucified in the press for his statement last night. How sad that Americans, these days, are so easily divided. A point to ponder on… this thing only kills 2% of those that may contract it. It’s estimated that 40-50 million people have died from Aids. Why didn’t we shut down the country when we first had the Aids break out? We could have isolated all with that way worse disease and saved this great nation much pain and money. Well not big pharma, Aids is a gold mine to them.

My hope was that everyone can come on here and talk about their concerns or experiences as I kind of had a feeling this would balloon. My wife works in hospitals so that concerns me as to her health, especially with the PPE shortages.

I understand your concern. My wife and I both work in the medical field. You are concerned for her health and your family’s. Obviously, COVID-19 is highly contagious…
As Dr. Fauci has stated, without data, we are guessing. Without testing the mass population for COVID-19, there is no way to infer the morbidity/mortality of the disease.
That unknown is what is causing FUD(FEAR/UNCERTAINTY/DOUBT). Same as when a Hurricane is approaching. The Media has played both for all they are worth. So have some groups of people. There is plenty of blame to go around.
Laying blame on our government can be debated at a later date. Our country was founded by INDIVIUALS coming together against a common enemy. When I see Governors screaming for supplies for hospitals that are available at Home Depot/Target and demanding the Federal Government to release supplies…while hospitals in unaffected areas (in the same state) continue to do elective surgeries…it makes me stop and ask …WHY.
Until we as a nation are willing to work TOGETHER to solve the problem, we will loose to the virus and it will run its course. The result will be many deaths of susceptible individuals and many more with debilitating health consequences.
When you see nurses/health providers putting on plastic garbage bags to put a barrier between themselves and possible infection…it points to the ingenuity of our people. Cafeteria glove
