Hey, Y’all! I have a 4 stroke Johnson 115 hp on my Sea Pro, and I really want to get a fuel water separator put in. I just got a new fuel line and bulb, so I’d like to do it all at once. I am pretty sure I should get a spin on type separator, but I was hoping that y’all might have some suggestions on the best brand and size to get. That is a 5/16 fuel line going to the motor that I have. I’m just not sure what I’m looking for.
Thanks in advance, and I really appreciate any advice.

DO NOT, I WILL SAY IT AGAIN, DO NOT, buy an aluminum housing
get stainless or composite
cheapest setup is composite head with a throw away filtre, about $27
stainless head with a racor is around $110
the replacement element is around $25

Whats wrong with an aluminum one? You are currently working on my Scout and if I should change it please let me know how much it will cost me. The aluminum one was on the boat when I bought it I just put a new filter on it as well as all new lines.
when the powder coat fails, and it will fail, the aluminum rapidly corrodes. the unit will become porous and either lose the vacuum to draw fuel or leak, neither of which is good. have chris install a sierra stainless head.
How long before it fails??? I have one as well…

THE top biggest call problem this year is fuel realted…so take chris v 's advise…get rid of the powder coated stuff…everything i’ve seen this year has been corroded…water in the fuel…not changing f/w seperator…small crappy cheap filter…this is the worst out of the 8 yrs doing sea tow i’ve seen for fuel related issues…

keep an eye on it and if you see the finish start to bubble the corrosion has begun. if it looks ok, make the replacement part of your winter upfits.
Thanks! I will definitely keep a close eye on it.

Great, where were ya’ll last year when I bought mine? Never mind, it is just mo money. Hey, isn’t that what a boat is all about?
replaced water seperator, fuel line and bulb, vaccum line, the line that runs from fill point to tank and bige pump today on the little boat we bought. Should be good to go now…was told to only use evinrude bulb for replacement …not to go with a standard one so did that too…
