This is a wildlife/photo group going on a managed trip to the gulf side.
Is US currency preferred ?
Anything she should know about going? tips, tricks, that kind of thing?
Thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Do you know what gulf, there are two–Nicoya and Dulce.
Colones is the money there. Some places take US dollars, but at a very bad rate of exchange. She can use her ATM card and get a normal exchange. She can use her credit card(Visa/MC) many places or she can change a hundred or so bucks at the airport for tips and pocket cash.

I’ve been several times and never had a problem using US dollars anywhere.
