Sorry for the delay in posting but had to get caught up at work all week. I went to Costa Rica last week with my dad and brother and had to share the experience with all of you. If you have never been, make the time, book a trip, save the money, and go. The country is beautiful and the fishing is off the charts. I have grown up fishing from NC to Fla and I have never experienced anything like the fishing in Costa Rica. We went 8-31 on Sailfish on saturday (I know bad batting average) and 6-15 on sailfish on Sunday. At one point we had 5 fish on at once. It was like a Chinese firedrill. The highlight of the trip was watching my dad get wore out by a 200+ pound Striped Marlin. We went 1-1 on marlin on Sunday. The ocean is flat, the beer is cheap, and the fishing unbeatable. We have already booked the same trtip for next year. Hope everyone is catching them up!
sounds like a great trip. where did you stay?
just looked it up the world record striped is 224#'s. you dad should be proud of that. that is truly a fish of a lifetime. congrats.
We stayed at a place called Casa Del mar I think. They are little condos or villas in Jaco. we fished out of Los Suenos. Los Suenos is a great place. Next year I will look at renting a house and bringing more people.
