I’ve setup a couple times this year in North Bull’s Bay. I have to Onepole and setup with bait balls off each side of the bow and down each side. Casting for a couple hours I pull in a few shrimp and a few whole bait balls. As the tide turns the shrimp start to pick up. Just like in the past they suddenly “turn on”. And then slack way off. Also, I don’t get any more bait balls in the net. I’m wondering if, when they “turn on” they quickly eat all the bait balls and move on. So throwing more out during a “turn on” might keep them on the poles longer. Anybody add more bait during a “turn on”?
When u pull in a bait ball just take note of the size compared to when u put it out.
If its halfgone in 2hrs then a safe guestimation is ur lucky if it last for aanother 2 hrs.
This is with fish meal n clay.
If you ‘pick up’ some bait balls, chances are you are moving the others as the net drags in. You may just be missing the bait.
Growing old is MANDATORY, Growing up is OPTIONAL!
I agree with mudball. You also have to allow for the drift of the net in the opposite direction you were throwing before.
