We left a lil late should have waited a lil longer.Headed out towards scarp made it to 130’ and seen plenty of life so we decided to fish. Wahoo on in ten mins. got him to boat and he turned into the motor. What a way to start the day. We let the sick guy on the boat catch him to try and revive him but it didnt work.We went through a chinese fire drill for about two hrs after that, 6-8 footers and fish everywhere. We decided to go a lil deeper for some bigger fish they were only 15-20 lbs and most of them were cows. Made it to 700’ and found a small weed line and picked up some nice bulls but still not over 35 lbs by that time it was 5:00 and we were east of the Gt hole trolling towards hill. Nothing going, on I noticed when the moon got up the fish slacked off. The outside rigger goes off and this fish is not backing up. We determined it was a very nice fish then he turns left puts his big loop in the line and the man in the blue suit pops up to let us know we didnt have a chance. He cut the line with his tail I guess and by now if he didnt slow down he should be in Bermuda. It was a great show for a short period of time. We ended up with 20 dolphin and a real nice ride back to the hill at 40 mph. We will try again next week. Sorry to the guys on the boat I said I was’nt going to post but who cares about the smart remarks people make on here. While we were fishing they were wishing.
Great job on the trip and the man in the blue suit. Back at work tonite or we woulda been there. Did yall find that thick weed line in 130 feet? By the way, who cares what other people post on here? The most are only a little jealous of another boats good day! Think we’ll be back attem the weekend mother nature permitting!
Give me a call kevin i think next week Im going to try and spend the night and catch them bottom dwellers for gas money. Might try and drift for a sword fish.
Sounds good, we’re trying to get an overniter together too. Been trying to get Nick to go with us but I think moma’s got him on lockdown. Guess its bout time to start pre-fishing for the tailwalker too. The Haden are already here so hopefully the kings aren’t far behind.
Dont know if Im going to fish it or not still looking for a crew thats experienced. I did see the menhaden and caught a king last week in 130’, we released him he was about twenty pounds.
