Ok heading to Murray for the second time ever on friday. Going to put in at the dam this time so where is the best place to get bait. An address would be awesome. Next question and the big question are fish down lake yet, mid lake. From the reports fish seem to be relatively shallow still so does that mean lake banks or in the creeks? Any help would be appreciated and I will report back. PM are welcomed too:smiley:
I think David is selling bait at the dam landing in the mornings now. Fish are scattered top to bottom. I know some guys catching them on cut bait. Some are pulling lines.
Thanks fish hard. What time does he stay there till, probably won’t get there until 7 as I have close to a 2 hour drive.
I think he’s usually there till about 7:30. I’m not positive though. Lake World is there just before the dam on hwy. 6.

Also the place behind the shell station right by the dam. I like getting bait from there because they give you a handful of salt and baitsaver to put in the baitwell.

bioguy, it would make for an early wake up, but if you can do it, I would suggest trying to get on the water by about 6am…especially if you are going to pull freelines.

The night bite has been off all year. I keep thinking it will be better next week but it doesn’t happen.

You need to get out early… Had limit with 4 over 5 lbs and over 12 fish landed by 8a. Good Luck
Behind the shell station is open now (I’ve been putting in at Jakes landing and driving by it… Haven’t got any bait from there yet… Usually get mine at the dam early or Lake World

Thanks for the info guys. It looks like ill be settin the alarm a little earlier. I like to planers, two free lines out the back and two down rods about 15 ft and hope for the best. I’ve never been very good fishing deeper so hopefully it will be a cloudy day and keep the bait up.
Don’t be shy to pull boards and fl in deeper water. Lost a teenager to a straightened treble on Sat in 30-40’ of water

If you’ve had fun catching fish on the transom bait, you are welcome…
I’ve spent about 85% of my life’s wages on fishing, the rest I just wasted…
