couple of reds yesterday

Went out with my neighbor yesterday afternoon and fished some small creeks just down river from bushy park.
Got this guy first -

Then maybe 5 minutes later caught this guy -

That was all we caught for about 2 hours fishing. Both caught on Storm wild eyed shad. Fishing has been pretty good lately so I figured I’d make my first report. Water temp was 73 deg, falling tide.

It amazes me to catch a fish like that in a tiny spot like this -

Man, that is awesome. I guess they were laying in wait for some unsuspecting little mullet to swim by.

Out the other day and my partner was fishing with the Storm and catching trout while I was being skunked on DOA and Gulp. I ain’t no fool…Rigged and ready with the wild eye shad for next trip!

Nice fish! Amazing where you will find them!

The number two fish is one fat boy! You get them in the marsh to your right as you are leaving the landing channel? It looks narrow enough.

The wild eyed shad is by far my favorite artificial. I’ve caught reds, trout, and flounder withthe reddish tinged one that has small black lines. I put a little pro cure mullet stink on them also. I also use the full silver one with a small black spot… when I don’t have anymore red ones. I make no claims at being a good fisherman, but that is the lure I have the most confidence with.
I spend almost all my time across the river from bushy… top end of Yellowhouse area, Flagg creek area, and a little upriver from bushy. Gotta be careful back there it’s real shallow to bone dry at low tide depending. At high tide I usually feel kinda lost for spots because there’s just so much water and grass back there. I didn’t blur anything out because that’s what it all looks like back there.

i have caught them in creeks so small i could barely get my boat in them. My boat is a 21 bay and i have also been amazed at just how skinny the ole sea pro can get as well.
congrats on the catch.
