Couple of Reports and Pics

Went out a few times the past few weeks, just have not yet posted reports. Rather then post every other day I decided to post when I got some decent pictures and something good to report.

My father when in town 2 weeks ago and my brother went out caught about 8 reds and a black drum in one trip so my father, myself, and brother go out last Monday before my pops went home and landed only a few rat reds. They been up and down in size and biting. Brother goes out with some friends and lands 8 reds in the slot, then 2 days later, when I go again, they were very picky.

Got a new rod/reel wanted to test it,(St Croix Mojo Inshore with a Stradic CI4 4000) and went out this past weekend and only landed 1 slotty and lost 1 big guy on the dock. Very picky biting again.

Decided to go again today and had a blast. Typically I don’t have much luck in the middle of the day in the HOT HOT sun, but it was Non stop constant action. Every time I would put one rod out with bait, I would set it down in the rod holder to set up another rod, and I never got to, because the rod would start screaming! It was like this all day. I only ever was able to set up two rods before the first one went off again. Fished several different spots and had great results.
Also was very surprised how hard they were biting, and how hard they were fighting.

Landed 8 Redfish all over slot: Largest was 30" and 12lbs on the fake Boga
Few Bluefish in the mix trying to steal bait
Lost a few more Reds to pulled hook and pulled knot
All released healthy and fast
Water clarity was clear
Water temp was high 80s
Bait was mullet

Charleston Angler-I had some gift cards and friends hook me up because my birthday was last week and the Angler set me up with that new rig It’s super light, and a great little setup. Definitly my new favorite.

Landed a 27" Red on it, and it was a fun fight.

Nice post. Nice rod and reel. Top of the line. Light as a feather. Can cast it all day. Live mullet or cut?

I like to usually use Shrimp, Menhaden, and Mullet. Match the hatch. Yesterday however, was all cut mullet. I have used live and dead shrimp, live finger mullet, cut mullet, and live menhaden. My best success is always mullet. My brother top choice is shrimp, and my buddy loves the Hadens. We all always do well.

Last week my brother threw the cast net onto a school of jumping mullet, and he caught 2 slot sized reds in the net… To me that says they were chasing mullet.
