Covered in bugs 8/5 (pictures)

Charleston is freaking awesome. We decided to focus on deep diving only on Saturday and went way out and scouted for some new numbers. We ended the day with a haul of mixed lobster equal or better than any I have seen during the seasons in the lower Keys. We even had time to get our seabass and triggerfish. We would have stayed for a 3rd dive but we really already had all that we needed and the storms were starting to pop up on the radar so we called it a day. Ran in at 40 to 45mph and we were back on the hill in no time.
Thanks RealFish and BugCatcher for another great Saturday on and under the water.

Meet the slipper lobster

Slipper with Eggs, you have to let them go and we released lots of them.

Clean male slipper lobster - No eggs so it goes in the lobster bag.

FISH FOR THE FUTURE:
Selective divers set their sights on only those few prize game fish they will enjoy eating

Nice work- u guys are lobster feigns…and i like it- u see any nice fish on those dives? and what depth did u guys start in

Nice Pics, Jordan. Glad you got them posted up so quick!!!

We saw a few skittish gags, but they were smart enough to keep their distance. There were a good number of triggers, a few sheeps. Only one Lion Fish, but Jordan vented that one properly. Lots of BSBs and AJs, EVERYWHERE!!!

We hung around the 90 ft range, most of the day.

PS: If a fly lost it’s wings, would it be called a walk?

payff from the homework

we found this spot 4 weeks ago but the ledge goes under 18’ and is only a foot high. spent a week in key west plotting and worked out a plan. realfisho1 the engineers plan worked to perfection! had my daughter( the real bug catcher) over for dinner for a treat as she is no longer pregnant and able to partake in the sushi, seared yellafin and some suculent slippers!
had a killer day with a great crew, killer wraps, ceviche and a perfect weather day, following the storms in to the harbor.

If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.

amazing looking spread

Thats sounds and looks like an awesome trip. Wish I could get out there to get me a few of them bugs.

They are scuba pro amara sport gloves and yeah I like them alot. I have grabbed some gnarly spiney lobster with them and shoved my hand into many holes in the reef I probably shouldn’t have and always came out alright. They are great for bug snagging.

Went out again today…Saw a line of stout thunderstorms in front of us and the 4-5’ rollers started building fast so we turned back. As we left we saw the system drop 3 funnel clouds so we were sure we made the right call. We will have to get them next week I guess.

We played Sirus-satelite-36yellowfinonthepin-dodge-thunderstorm most of the day. Yes it was nasty around that thing. Made a few dives. Vis is terrible in 100 feet and great in 170.

Set the trap boys, we going to pass through them again!!
