Covers... gotta ask

so I got my t top installed, and I cant use my console cover or my boat cover anymore. I priced a custom cover, and its going to cost me around a grand. I have not purchased a cover for more than $120 prior to this. Will it be worth the money? Looks like I can get a cover for like $350 on ebay that is supposed to be a close slightlt loose fit. It is advertised specifically for this boat, not 20 different boats. Which way do I go boss?

Go on bassproshops.com and check out the covers they have. I bought the one for a 21ftcc with a ttop, and so far it works great. Bout $450. Its a little much to put on and take off but its worth it. Also treat it with the same stuff people use to waterproof tents. It’ll help the water to run off easier and not sink in the fabric.

The old top could be made to work.Think about it.You can cut and add material.Velcro does wonders…

I know it is not the same thing, but I bought a custom made cover for my hewes with the poling platform through Iboats.com. I have been completely satisfied and it came with a 5 year warranty. The cover is around a year old and looks great, maybe a little faded but I was told that was going to happen when I ordered the color that I wanted.

Good luck.

My old boat cover is tired… it was due for replacement anyway. I found out that the custom cover was going to be made from a template anyway. Sounds like a semi custom fit from a store online should work just as well. Thanks

This probably won’t help you T-top guys, but I bought a good sturdy grill cover from Wal-mart…added some extra grommets around the bottom, added some cord. I use one for the center console and one for the leaning post. I think I have less than $50 in both.

I have a Taylor Made that was about 350. It’s not a custom fit but decent for the $$$

Does that cover hold water at the rear when it rains? It looks like it would. If it doesnt, that looks like a great deal. I wonder if it would work with the tall bow rails. Where did you get it?

got my cover from Bass Pro for $500 for a 20ft CC with T Top. Sounds high but I have to park my boat by a pecan tree. We all know how that works. The only issue I had was the bow held water. I made a PVC stand that props up the cover. Problem solved.
Reel escape where did you get your cover made??

A wise man once said “Do as I say not as I do” Good advice when I tell you that.

Mine from ebay, Taylor Made, this was the description: Taylor Made Trailerable T- Top Boat Cover 20 to 23 Ft $329 w/additional tie straps. This was Nov 2009 so they’ve probably gone up. The guys name is Don Larson 813 240-1617. No affiliation here just got a cover from him.If it’s adjusted/pulled tight it does not hold water.

That looks like a good way to go. Im going to check into that. They have them on ebay now, but it looks like its going to cost me $400 to get it all done right. Maybe I will call them tomorrow.

Before I had a building to store my 21’ boat I used a 12’ x 24’ blue tarp from Walmart for around $30. They last a year or so. I went through probably 5 of em.

I’d think seriously about a metal carport before sinking $500 - $600 in a cover. 1) Covers are nice but a ***** to put on and take off. 2) A 21’ wide x 12’ long metal carport runs around $600 on www.carport.com AND they advertise free delivery and installation.

It ain’t no mystery…this beer’s history!

The car port idea would be nice, but for the money I just cant do that. If you look at what it would cost to get one long and tall enough with half-sides it would be a couple grand. I spoke with the guy about the tailor made covers. I should be getting a price tomorrow and details about what he can do for me. Ill post up when I get one so everyone can see what I got. Hopefully it will fit as well as the one reelescape posted.
