awsome fish. do saltwater stripes fight harder than freshwater? always wondered that. were you up there vacationing? what was the target species you were after or was that it.
Yes, they seem to fight harder and yes stripers were the target species, but we catch an occaisional bluefish too. I use to hunt giant tunas up here every year till responsibilities like kids and jobs got in the way. Got a decent reputation for getting giants so I have no problem getting on a boat. Actually one guy gives me the keys to his whaler to take the boy out inshore so that I’ll tunafish with him. He also allows me to use his beachouse too. Like I said the people up here are excellent. One could certianly have a great vacation just striper fishing though. I really don’t care what it is as long and the line is tight and pole bent. Be back down south next week. Rats!
Dam nice fush. Have not been up there in quite awhile, great job
Local Boy, Just having fun.
before kids my wife and i spent springs in orland maine working. The people up there are great and the seafood is outstanding. I would have moved there but we went through a march blizzard, 0 degrees with a 30 mph northwest wind. It snowed sideways for 2 days. I’ll be back, thanks for showing the pic and letting me remember.
