Shrimped from like 8 to 12. We got to the bank and there were several boats around and the top spots were taken so we squeezed in dead on top of the bank at high tide. Our poles spread out from abouy 7 to 10ft of water. We set 7 poles but pulled 1 the first pass because it was leaning already and got caught on the net on a throw. So we basically 6 poled it most the time and we rotated between the 3 of us casti g and i had a bad run where i tacoed half my cast and so did both the other guys. I ran a pole over in reverse and when we were tryin to get it my buddy fell in. He popped up instantly and went to grab the boat but i grabed him and helped him in. As hes coming put the water his phone is teetering out his pocket and i grab it right as it falls out his pocket. I honestly feel like we only produce half of what we could of. We finished with close to a half cooler of mostly large shrimp. It was a super dark night and was a little rough in the harbor but a lot calmer by crab bank. We got lucky and the wind and tide worked with us and it was just windy enough to keep you from sweating. Hardest part was getting the poles in, crab banks got some solid ground. It was my first time pulling up a good net full of quality shrimp. My best cast was about 50 large sgrimp at once. We reset the poles to adjsut to depth change and there was confusion on tossing out the bait balls and we had trouble finding them with our cast on the last couple runs. I felt like shrimping was pretty good and quality is the best ive seen in the last few years. We all had a good time, we didnt have any problems or issues and we caught some quality shrimp. Because it was so dark out coming in you could see the city lights really well and it was a nice ride back to the wappo.
We used bait binder and a 8ft net and made our balls right when we set poles. They both worked well and the 8ft wasnt that tiring to throw. A bigger net probably would of served us well since only about 25 percent of our cast were perfect pancakes and a la
