Crab Bank, Friday Night, Not a Bad Nite

Just in from Crab Bank, Stayed dry the whole nite, Outgoing tide, water was very clear, they turned on at 8PM and turned off about 920-930. Started in about 6.5 feet, ended up in 3 when we stopped to head them. A few runs were like he old days. Had 1/2 cooler after 4 runs. Ended up w/ just under a cooler, mostly nice mediums w/ a few larges and a few smalls. Not a great sunset, but weather was otherwise perfect. Hoped to go Sat, but the weather forecast w/ the North Wind doesn’t look too good.

Nice report! What side of Crab Bank is best to set up on? This will my first year giving shrimping a shot and I was thinking of heading up to Bulls Bay, but I live in Mt. P so Crab Bank would be a lot closer!

“That’s why they call it fishin, not Catchin”

SeaShaker, I like the area on the ‘inside’ of CB, (Mt P side) inside the green markers. It is a little more sheltered and have done OK there the last few years.

Awesome, thanks doclevin. I will have to give that a shot in the next few weeks. Yesterday we went up to Bulls Bay for our first ever attempt at shrimping and caught about 7 dozen… certainly far from a cooler full, but it was a great time and we will get a meal out of them for sure!
