Crab Bank: We came, we saw, we conquered...

almost nothing.

It was a perfect night for baiting in the harbor, minimal winds, water was laid down well. A rough estimate puts us down for about 16 or 17 passes. We wound up with enough to cover the bottom of the cooler, but just like all the other reports here, the few we had were monsters. Couple guys next to us were out for the first time and landed 2 shrimp. We stayed to about 130 to cover the switching tide, but that really didn’t help a whole lot.

Regardless of how well we did though, it never fails that I got to enjoy the sounds of the harbor at night and the lights of downtown from a vantage point that few from Charleston and fewer visiting will ever get to experience.

that had to be my brother in law and his friend next to you, they went to the harbor about the time u were there and only got 2 shrimp… it was their first time out this year, Jerry n Paul

They were leaving right around the time we were anchoring to wait for the tide to switch. Seemed nice enough, they were asking for some advice and we told them about the harbor’s shortcomings this year… north and south of the harbor seem to be doing better.
