…so I’m sure most of you remember me and my many tales of “crabbing with my daddy”.
Daddy has been gone almost two years now and not a day goes by that I don’t miss him and the days we spent in the creeks.
I can’t get those times back but definately treasure the memories.
Marsha Hass and donnie have been constant in still getting me in the creeks somewhere…something I love so much.
Today was another exceptional day.
The three of us decided to try some old school crabbing in some creeks…you know…chicken back on a hand line with a weight…and we had great luck.
After culling through the small and “poor ones”…still brought almost 2 dozen home for dinner…caught some bait and some fish…and had a great time .
As I culled the crabs I could almost feel daddy’s presence…and him saying…not that one…yep that’s a keeper…and him snickering when they tried to grab my fingers.
Cherish your times with family and friends…and esp days spent in the creeks here…those memories will get you through the tough times for sure.
Thank you Marsha and Donnie for such a fun day!
Penny!!! How are you doing…better I hope. Love to see you posting.

I have been absent from the site myself for sometime but boy do I miss your posts. The posts and pics of your and your Dad were like a tv series, couldn’t wait until the next week(trip). Also, the many pics and recipes of your catch were better thean FoodTv. Glad you are back and hope your are doing well. Now, go get back out on the water girl,
we need your stories!
Glad to hear you are getting out there Penny! My Mom has been gone 20 years last month and I still think about her everyday. When someone occupies a place in your heart, the whole left when they are gone never goes away.
As for crabbing, my wife is at her happiest when she is crabbing with a line, chicken neck and a net. She takes great delight when she scoops up a good crab. I feel bad we don’t get down there much anymore but we’re talking more and more about retirement and her getting to do the things she loves doing.
Take care and please continue sharing your stories. I too miss all the great stories and photos you used to post.

Me too…
I’ve decided the pain is much more bearable than not trying to do the things I love.
While these trips leave me where I can barely move…it is so well worth it…and I’ve learned what I can no longer do.
Unfortunately one of these things is deep hole shrimping…and I miss it so very much.
