Crabbing with my daddy 03/31

Monday seems to be my scheduled crabbing day with daddy now as I am off on Sunday nights. Donnie gave me a bit of a guilt complex about leaving him again to go…and I felt really bad until I cleared the James island connector…then it was full speed ahead with only one stop to be made and that was for the biscuits:smiley:

Arrived a hour early which gave us time to talk a little with mom before heading out. I love these times. First boat to the ramp and it looked like it was going to be a pretty day for sure.

Didnt take long for my buddy’s to show up…they were ESP bossy that day snatching the bait out of the pots before I could even shake it out…as soon as I opened the bait door I had several bills coming at me! Now if someone’s going to be shoving "bills"at me I sure don’t want it to be some ol’ pelican looking for a free meal. Guess I ticked one off really bad because he kindly white washed me as he flew up over me:dizzy_face:…yep…daddy found just a little humor in this

This one has a stolen fish in its pouch making a quick getaway:smiley:. Daddy said one snatched his glove right off his hand one day and flew off with it with two others chasing it thinking it

Thanks again Penny!!! As always love reading your posts and following the pics…ummm…shirt picture???

We’ve had pelicans close before but never had to deal with them at hand close-they look like they could almost hurt if you’re hit in a tender area??

Hope the crabbing picks up and the pots stay where they are supposed to be!

Hahahah…ok…so I fixed the shirt picture :). Done know why it did that. Those pelicans can be a nuisance! They even land in the boat and steak our lunch and the bait…poop all over . We had two ride on the Boatworks of the boat one day…wouldn’t leave!id puch them off and they would land right back! Those picky nails on the end of their beaks are scary!!?,
