0430 yesterday morning found me heading out the door to the village to go crabbing with my dad…and I couldnt wait!!! talked him into just sitting back and being the driver, enjoy the lunch I had packed for him… and letting me pull the pots for him. His dang winch kept shocking me for some reason so I quickly opted to pull them by hand, 50 of them…which wasnt bad at all…but I ended up looking like he had drug me across a mud flat on my belly:smiley:
and btw…thats not hair on my legs…its mudd
…glad I had cleaned up a little before donnie saw my clothes…he just shakes his head in bewilderment when he see’s me like this…oh well…had a great day with my daddy as always…and cant wait to go again… My mom even reminded me that I am “a woman” and shouldnt be doing this as women arent supposed to pull pots and such…lol…know she meant well but hasnt she learned yet…I may be a “girl” but am still my “daddys boy” in a lot of ways that I just cant outgrow…will always a tomboy at heart I guess…and dont regret it a bit…wasnt even sore this morning…except for where the crab grabbed my little toe and then to add insult as I was dancing around as daddy laughed…reached out and grabbed the big one too…lesson learned…never wear croc’s to crab in:roll_eyes:…but daddy said I did a pretty good “crab dance”
Man, I was okay until I saw all that food. My wife is out of town so I am feeding myself and let’s just say I miss her and her cooking. Glad you cleared up the “hairy leg” question.
Penny thanks so much for your contributions to these forums and especially the cooking your catch I look forward to your posts. I saw your inlaws had what appears to be a High Tide been considering a small fiberglass skiff do you have any experience with that boat maybe with 4 stroke yamaha I would like to hear your input on this.
thats my brother in law that has the high tide…I have fished and casted from it during shrimp season…its a nice little boat but a bit of a wet ride and not a lot of room in one that size…ok for one or two…but start adding in stuff and the narrow beam" middle to front" doesnt have much room to spare… otherwise its a great little boat but thats just my opinion…for just a creek boat for one or two you’ll be fine…crossing bays and any rough waters you’ll be in for a wet ride …but then as I said…its just my opinion…hope no one holds it against me…
What is that food on the very top of the top plate with the other fried food? Is it whelk or something?
