Crabbing with my Daddy

Woke up monday 0400 morning to the sound of rain pelting the window…and hated that the weatherman who said 50-60 percent chance of rain was right…and that no…it wouldnt be “mostly afternoon showers”

Roo was real anxious to go with me…cant you tell:wink:

Determined to think poitive and make the best of it I got ready to go anyway…we have worked in the rain before…and as long as there wasnt lightening I didnt mind.
Hit hardees for breakfast for mom and daddy and the lady there( who knows i go crabbing form past conversations) looked at me and said…“you do realize its raining dont you”…“really? i ask…man…i thought yall had some powerful new sprinklers”
Patches of rain during the whole drive there…but when I got there it had stopped. Opened the door to be pelted by a mob of angry mosquitoes instead. MAN…those things were vicious! Felt like i had stepped into a bed of fire ants…and Im not exagerating a bit!
Hug from mom and a run through our “do you have” list with her and we were off!!! Heres a few pics from our day…hope you enjoy them[:I]

My chariot awaits…

We were in camoflauge today:sunglasses:…crabs wouldnt even see us coming!

Looks like a good catch Pen, and a nice trout at that …

Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.

NEED A POLING PLATFORM-PM ME

Penny you have to do a photo book! Your pictures always tell such great stories. My son would have gone nuts over all those gators. For some reason, he is really in to those things. As for those crabs, I had not been pinched in years but got zapped a couple of weeks ago in Edisto…DANG!, I had forgotten how bad that hurts.

Tanks! We saw 10 or12 gators. And none appeared to even care that we were there…so if any.ne has some gator tags…

Caught all the trout on the electric chicken …but that’s all I had with me…as I’m not supposed to fish while at work  lol

Saw a stone crab get daddy in the "meat " pf his hand once…he said…oh gosh darn mr crab…will you please let go.

I love your Post’s and Pic’s Penn… I live on Lake Greenwood in the middle of the state, but I would love to be closer to the salwater… I plan on heading down that way soon. I have fish around Hunting Island around beaufort the last couple of years, but I plan on doing some fishing around the Charleston area in the next few months. I fish out of a 1860 Duracraft and it handle the bays and back water pretty good. Keep the pic’s coming!!!

Penny-Thanks again for a most wonderful post and pics!!! The only thing missing was the Lowcountry smell that we’ve come to love everytime we’re down there

Was really expecting to see a pic of your Flipper friend when you said something about seeing something else…haven’t seen any down around Sam’s Point when we’re there in Oct but I’m thinking it’s only matter of time.

You can normally buy them at any seafood shop live, just make sure to put them in another container other than the brown bag they give you.
