Another great day on the water with my daddy today. Crabs are still hard to find…at least keeper ones…#1s and #2s…male crabs.
58 pots and only about 10 lbs of ones…and 3/4 bushel twos. Lots of little ones thrown back that werent big enough. Moved pots around…and lookig forward to …hopefully… a good peeler season soon.
Water temp 51-54 and clear…Stalked by pelicans and gulls all day…and soaked by our dolphin friend before we even got started:smiley:…but its always great to see him…His antics make us laugh and laugh . heres a few pics from our day…and a little video I’ll call dolphin peekaboo:wink:
[:0]sshh-ssshh–shaaaarkkkkk!!
…no…woohooo…its my and my daddys dolphin friend
so…daddy reminded me we needed to get to work…so we head out…and our usual game of “let me saok the humans” begins:smiley:
I have learne dby now…or so I thought…that the one on the back of the boat usually gets the wetest in this game…so I went up to the front// …that dolphin is too smart! this little tape insnt very good as i was trying to dodge the water…but as you can hear…I almost fell out laughing:smiley:
You too Simon! I did go fish when I got home that morning from work…but only caught two fish…both small reds…didn’t stay very long as sleep was setting in…but it was a nice morning out.
Thanks Penny. That video sounds like it was taken by a 12 year old girl, which I’m guessing in heart it was. I’m betting your dolphin giggle hasn’t changed over the years, and I’m glad for it. Your love of the ocean rings through it.
Vin man…12 years old…wow…that was many tides ago ;)… But .you are absolutely right…and daddy said he doesn’t know if he laughs more at me or the dolphin. …and btw…I politely said I laughed until my side hurt…when I actually wanted to say…until I most peed my pants hahaa
At least it was a laugh and not a sneeze! A laugh is worth it! LOL! You could hear his laugh, also. A lot of love pointed many directions in that clip.
Thanks Joe. Donnies surgery is Tommorow morning. He is just a tad anxious as last time they did a back surgery he ended up in ICU for three days. Keep him in your prayers though…and Happy Easter.
always love your pics penny! besides all of them im gonna have to say my fav is the one of the sun that looks like a palmetto…neat! never knew of a dolphin going that close to people like that, then again soak the humans would be a fun game too lol. as for the pelicans at least you didnt have them divebombing your catch while a video camera attached to your kayak was running…perhaps that happened to me in the tailrace and that video is in the freshwater reports i may have to suggest at least a mini sledge for that massive stone crab claw and those turkeys look even better knowing i actually got my tags this year!
Jan…I guess doing what I’ do as a nurse makes me appreciate and realize how precious life is …and the fact that it is way too short…and can change so quickly. As I get older I ESP. Realize that time with my family is a treasure…and “going home” a real treasure. I can never sleep the night before I know I will be going…and on the ride home I’m already trying to figure out when I can squeeze another trip home in… If I could just work the creeks with my daddy I would be a really happy woman
Daddy called me yesterday to tell me he found the Tylenol bottle that I had put a penny and a note in and slipped into one of his crab pots…he was laying like crazy…telling me how smart his crabs are ;). Donnie had surgery this week…so am staying close to home…but next week…there will be another crabbing report for sure
