Cracker Cat Sunday Jan 6

Gags are in close and full of cigar minnows. Got 6 nice gags 12- 20 lbs in 65 to 75 feet. Got 3 Red Grouper 10-18 lbs a little deeper. Also got some smaller snapper and BSB’, etc. Only kept BSB over 15 inches.

Saw a Bluefin breach in 85’ busting on the Little Tunny’s. It was no doubt a BFT…it was big…and it came all the way out of the water. Lots of the little tunny’s out there. They did eat out of our chum slick, but were leader shy on #80 FC.

Lots of other life out there. Big sunfish, turtles, winter birds, etc. Nice ride and pretty day.

Nice day Crack… does this mean you’re officially back on the water post-bambino?

BTW… nice showing against the “proud warrior nation.” Wish we could’ve done as well.

Should I tell DQ you’re back in the game?

Hey Cracker great report.

Just wondering about your fishing holes. Not looking for numbers but curious were you pulling numbers off Maps Unique for hard bottom, or are these secret numbers passed down from generation to generation. Planning on going next weekend and taking my 7 year old daughter and I want to catch lots of fish. Don’t get me wrong, I would not mind catching a few grouper, but for her I think quantity would be better than quality.

Also were you power drifting or anchoring up. And where is the best place to Sabiki up some bait.

Sorry for all the questions, but I want this to be a special trip for her. Trying to make a life long fishing buddy.

Thanks

I could give you some advice on the www, but you might could learn more by booking a trip with Purpose 1. Plus, there is a good chance you will get on some nice fish your first time out.

What kind of boat are you going to fish out there with assuming you run your rig?

The key on this trip was WHO went with him.

He took the bait like a jugbelly redfish on an olive and white clouser.

Frits, what kind of bottom machine is on your boat? You would not even have to anchor over the grouper if your min-kota shaft is long enough and you pick ur days. How long is your boat, and how much fuel does it hold? Do you have a life raft?

Luke 8:22-25

judofisherman, just use your map unique #s, any live bottom will do just watch your fish finder, they will be stacked up this time of year. we need fish, onthe way back in, we will stop on live bottom 2mi. south of the 60, guaranteed limits of bsb’s in less then 1 hr. chickin rigs! (for the kid. good luck) on a good day you can see the bridges from there. lots of scattered grouper in that area this time of year too!

If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.

24 Feet, 90 gallons plus you can always carry another 20 or so in cans and just add them as they day goes on. No life raft but I once tread water for 3 hours.

What is that little 3/0 circle hook doing next to a shot of two egg sinkerz in 106’?

I may be wrong about the sonar returns. Could be bank sinkerz.

That is a non-pick ur dayz spot. The fish prolly heard your tackle and warsteiner cans hitting the bote deck before you put the bait in front of them. This is assuming you did not ketch anything there. May be a veteran move showing nothing right off where you destroyed them…
