went brown and red fishing on Capt. Dan’s new sweet grady. Me, Capt. Dan and T. Miller. Could 'nt catchup with Bully for his rediculously sick numbers so we had to go out and find some …which we did…
found a hand full of nice spots down South in about 100 ft. caught some of everything all firsts on the sled…
nice grouper, snapper, trigger, BSB, ect…
One and a half day makers were : the mahi on the BFjig in about 85 or 90 ft. that ended up spitting the hook after a little tailwalking, ( this counted for half) and the following craziness:
Capn. put a very nice Shimano BF rod setup against the gunnel with the butt on the deck while he grabbed a drink or something . (disclamer is the line was two feet in the water with a jig bouncing and it was T. Miller’s rod and reel:face_with_head_bandage: . ) I here a bang and a splash: Capn. looks up the rod is deep six in 100 ft. of water! No good! After slamming stuff and scratching his head for about 1.5 mins. Capt. realizes the replacement cost and so on and so forth. T. Miller grabs the other Jig rod and drops down ( in 100 ft. almost 2 mins. later) and hooks up with a fish. Fights the fish to the boat and we see that the fish is endorsed by SHIMANO!!! He freekin caught the rod in 100ft. in the ocean with a screaming tide! what are the chances!!! It turns out the deep six rod had a 2ft remora on the end that hit the jig and pulled the rod in the water! CRAZY! True day maker… well done T.Miller!
I would keep the rod!!
