I’m looking for someone willing to mothership me and my yak out to chase some mahi and bottom dwellers. I’m an experienced yak fisherman and I’ve done more than a few offshore trips on “normal” boats. I know how to do deep water re-entry on my yak. It sounds crazy, but trust me, I have no wish to go out and kill myslef, so crazy people, please don’t respond.
I’m looking for a ride and someone that’ll pick me up when you’re ready to leave a trolling area. I’ll have my kayak, fishing gear, and safety equipment (whistle, flag, light, flares or smoke bombs, low power handheld VHF, handheld GPS, water, ditch bag, pfd, etc). I want to stay in radio contact all the time and would prefer visual contact.
I want to pull some baits along a rip or weed line to try to get a mahi from the yak. Wouldn’t mind setting up over live bottom to grab some bottom dwellers.
I’m pretty sure I have at least one other crazy yakker willing to go along.
Willing to pay my share of normal expenses for the opportunity of a big ole grin.
