Creek off the Stono 10/26

I put the kayak in a small creek behind my neighborhood yesterday for about 1.5 hours. I had a bunch of mud minnows that I caught earlier in the day. I paddled up to a spot that has produced some fish in the past. Caught one 15" trout on my first cast and spooked a couple of others that were hanging out on some shallow mud banks but I did not catch anymore. I paddled to another spot up the creek and promptly landed a personal best. Not the best picture, but he was about 25" (it’s hard to take a photo of a fish from a kayak). Beautiful day on the water. Wish I would have had more time!

Off to a good start!

“you win some, you lose some…but nothing beats getting some!”

I got started fishing here in Charleston out of a kayak behind my house on the Stono as well. Just wait a few years and you will be diving for lobsters.
