Has anyone fished Crowfield lake recently? Anything going on there? I live in Crowfield and was thinking about taking my daughter there to fish. She has been doing very well in saltwater and wanted to show her something different.
Hionadid,
I have not fished it in years, so current conditions are conjectures only. It is a fertile system and should support a good fish population and produce some big fish. However, because it has a little of everything, I would not expect it to be ‘kid friendly’. Exceptional adult fishing one day and the next not so much. I believe there are a couple of bank friendly access points, but I just can’t speak to current conditions.
Use to fish there growing up fishing from the bank was not much fun but small boat we have caught plenty of catfish from 2lbs all the way up to 50+, a few brim and even some crappies

I grew up there in Crowfield and I was one of the first people back in the 90’s to put a jon boat in there and fish it consistently. It was our own little lake that nobody else went to. It used to be an amazing fishery before they cleared the trees on Crowfield Blvd and then everyone kept everything they caught. It’s been a good bit of time since I have been out there but I bet you can still get on some good fish at the right time. Slap a small jon boat in there around a full moon with a pail of crickets and you guys should do well on the bream. Most of the lake is pretty flat but there are a couple areas that I bet still hold some good bass where the bottom changes.
It’s hard to get in there, you can’t park on the grass and you need a permit from the HOA office.Police will write you a ticket
