Roman Fry had to pay like $300 for “wreckless driving of a watercraft”, was not drunk, no foul play was involved, and Jarrett Foster’s family never pressed charges.
That’s a far cry from hitting a man at 4am crossing the road and being so drunk that you drag him under the car without stopping.
Fishb8t, if you are saying that you feel just as safe walking around downtown Cola and near Willie B late at night as you do in Clemson, then say it and own it. Don’t put words in my mouth and say that I said only bad things happen at USC night games.
No but your stadium is located in a schhitthole and Columbia is a f’ng cesspool.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

I don’t feel safe in either location late at night. I do not like crowds. But you insinuated that it only happens in columbia. It happens in every city/town. It happens in every college area. It always has and always will. Fan of all teams have good and bad. There have been arrest made in columbia of USC fans and CU fans. the same is true in Clemson.
And my friend RK…How can anyone defend a stupid general statement like “Columbia is a f’ng cesspool”
Columbia is a very big area and to generalize is silly.
I’m sure that our MANY CF.com member that live in the area will love to know that salty says they have worked all thier lives to live in a f’ng cesspool.
When I was in college it was much safer partying at house parties in Clemson instead of parties downtown in Cola or 5 Points.
Also I refuse to go to night games or go to the state fair at night, or eat at restaurants downtown as this place is not safe, and you constantly here about people being robbed, shot, or just beat up.
I am not talking about people looking for trouble, trouble will find you in Cola. A girl was shot by a stray bullet just the other day.

Well, there’s the kid that was beaten to a pulp for walking home for his cell phone, the kid that got stabbed for his shoes and most recently an innocent girl now in critical condition and paralyzed at best if she lives from a gang bangers bullet in 5 points. Countless other incidents are there if I had the time to dig. That to me means a F’ng cesspool.
Yes it happens at other places and schools but not with the frequency it does in Columbia and especially around the 5 points area that is the focus of the USC nightlife.

Read the charleston paper. Same thing. Read greenville, charlotte. You get the picture. The difference for yall is that their are more cows than people in cowtown. And cows dont kill people, people kill people

Yes, all bigger cities have their problems but Greenville and Charlotte are nice. Columbia is gross. My USC friends even think the city sucks.

Nothing wrong with cows at all, I’d prefer their company and sending my kids to a town with them to a place where my child was shot because a gangbanger pulled out his gun to show off and paralysis is the best hope for her. Or he was a virtual vegetable because he was beaten for a cell phone and kicks. Crap happens everywhere but it happens way too much to these young kids in 5 points who are there for a good time and an education.
Slice it, dice it and justify it any way you want but you know I’m right. Maybe tell that girls parents who sent her to school there that “EHH it happens everywhere.”

Scared staying inside at night is no way to live your life but to each his own.
In 20+ years of going to Gamecock games the only incident I have ever been involved with was 2 uga fans getting in a fight and one of them ending up stabbed in the chest. Never felt unsafe, EVER
Why would they do that Shev, “Cola is a very safe place, bad stuff happens everywhere, and I have been going to games for 20+ years and have never seen a problem”.
I guess the people that live here might no a little more about the area than Chucktown natives.
One thing that they are talking about doing finally is to start focusing on gangs and weapons.
For years the cops only focused on busting kids that were drunk, disorderly, or underage. They are now focusing their attention on gangs, riots, mobs, weapons, and convicted felons.
I can tell you that it has gotten worse every year that I have lived here. I can see how it would be easy for people from out of town that haven’t really hung out in this area in years to have a false sense safety when they visit. It’s bad, and only getting worse.
My nephew attends usc. Should I call my sister and have him pulled out of school?
You make it sound like Columbia is close to Chicago in crime rate.
But lets get back on topic and continue discussing why on earth the #3 team in the country, with no significant injuries to star players, are an underdog at home to a team that they have dominated the last 10 years in that stadium.
It’s comical and says a lot about that "national " respect the tigers are getting
