Curing cabin fever..late report

Hit the nice ocean on presidents day…another day of fun…and a new standard was set…forget the 9 & 10 wt fly rods…Albie on the micro lite on a top water bass lure…the bar has been set. May have to go for the 5 wt next time to up the ante. A blast was had by all…hooked some fish and mother nature provided a beautiful ocean…second time in a week???

great pitures

I did just the same thing about a month ago. Caught trash tuna on a gotcha plug with inshore gear. I upped the ante by letting my right handed friend borrow my rod and switch the crank to the other side. Forgot to switch back before I hooked up… Goofy.
It was a fun way to get rid of 20 gallons of fuel.

ill help you waste some fuel sometime…

“mr keys”

As long as the fish are pulling drag it’s all good…nice to bring home meat but with all the closures it’s either stay home or find something fun to catch & release…the “trash” fish have saved many a trip…

Those “trash” fish make the best strip bait there is for offshore-fishing;you will pay dearly for them if you have to buy them, that is a killer wahoo bait rigged in front of a purple-black Carolina-lure.

(**() that red has some serious parasites on it

Do you eat albacores?

adam, good thing you left the factory zip tie to hold the reel on the microlite… always wondered what those were for!

Hey Silky…have you had much luck freezing these Albies for strip baits?

Brock I didn’t even notice that! Bet it helped though, I was waiting for the reel to explode!

Kosher salt like there is no tomorrow. Sometimes I make them so salty it doesn’t freeze all the way.
