There are a good many custom rod builders in Charleston. They do look like they do nice work, bu tyou might be able to save on shipping if you get a local builder to do it, plus you could see the progress of it being put together.
Personally, I’d go with a Shimano Trevala. They’re some awesome production rods with great warranties, unlike most custom builders. I’ve abused all of my Trevalas and they’re still rock solid rods.
