I read an article from the gulf coast that they use cut bait fish and it works very well for redfish. Any one getting good results with cut bait in the area? Thanks.
Absolutely! The more oily/stinky the fish, the better. Ladyfish, bluefish, menhaden, mullet are all great. I like to butterfly finger mullet. Make a cut behind the head and cut back to the tail, so you have two fillet-flaps. Put a circle hook through the lip and toss on a Carolina rig under a dock/near structure. Wait no more than 10 min, if no bites, try the next one!

Reds are suckers for fresh cut bait. I use fresh live mullet or Menhaden hook thur the mouth and cut the tail off so the bait is alive and bleeds in the water.
Live shrimp or live FM vs. cut bait? What’s first choice?
Live FM. But dirty water and I use popping corks or cut bsit on the bottom. Usually both.

Cut bait on a popping cork or does it only work on the bottom?
Always have had great luck with large chunks of cut mullet, fresh or frozen. Crab halfs is possibly better, but really cut bait has worked remarkably well.

Best possible bait right now is live Menhaden (Red Fish Candy) if you can catch them. Went out Thursday and hooked into a bunch of reds.
A chunk of fresh, frozen or live mullet also works great.
When you catch bait never throw back what is left over at the end of the day Freeze it
Freeze it — Before you know it the water Temp will get down and BAM no more bait in the creeks

Thanks for the advice. I will start freezing my bait. Ialways trow a lot at the end of the day

That’s what soft plastics are for
of course real men tie their own mullet and catch them on the fly
