Cut Bait

Anyone tried it lately? Only have a couple of hrs to fish this eve and I think im just going to anchor and kick back. Been feeling like **** all weekend and need to just rest some so I figure I might as well just do it on the boat with some cut baits out…probably throw a couple live on the bottom too.

Striperskiff, I fished a bass tournament yesterday. I need to note that we were very careful anytime we were in the vicinity of the striper boats. Not all of us bass fishermen are inconsiderate.
About the most excitement we had all day was seeing a monster striper blow up on some baitfish down very near the dam. It wasn’t a carp and if it was a bass it would have been the new world record!
Have you tried Bear creek? I used to catch a lot of good sized stripers just above Stinker creek this time of year. Cutbait should be very good on several of those points. Good luck.

Oh well…just got home to get ready and realized I don’t have my 2nd anchor here. Gonna pull live bait. Thanks for the reply.

Try pushing you boat up on the bank with the motor and fishing cut bait out the stern and sides! Has alway worked well in the spring for me.

Tim, there were some guys uplake catching on cutbait yesterday when I was out with the Mrs. They were setup in 17 feet of h2o off a point. Should work on the lower end as well.
