Does anyone here have some recommendation how to keep a fresh or frozen cut shrimp from the hook ? Every time I throw it out the shrimp always fall off from the hook specially the fresh shrimp I am only hooking a cut shrimp not the full shrimp. I throw it out strong due to surf fishing I am doing it for further distance. The only thing I notice that doesn’t fall off is the squid but I like to keep the shrimp as it attracts more fish. Any recommendation is highly appreciated.
are you “threading” it on the hook? if I am fishing live shrimp sometimes I’ll hook them in the tail, but bottom fishing I’ll head the shrimp and thread it on the hook…

Never tried it for shrimp but I’ve used cheese cloth for chicken livers when catfishing. Even seen panty hose used too. If these will keep a chicken liver on a hook, it will definitely keep a shrimp on the hook.

pinch the tail off…run hook through shell on last segment(where tail fins were) and then back through shell again on next segment…
use whole shrimp
This may sound like a stupid response but cast smoother and if its not live I peel and use small pieces and usually double hook and lightly pinch the shrimp to squeeze out some more scent. You may also want to try a different type of hook and most likely smaller. I can literally cast as hard as I can and never fling bait off. Try to transition from loading your rod to the release smoother, you probably got to much of a jerk or snap between rearing back to cast and casting to cause this. To cast far its not about hardness its about proper technique of letting the rod do the work. I use small owner live bait hooks and have a very good hook up ratio and hardly ever lose bait.
I used to salt Mullet strips that may help with your frozen shrimp.
X2 what SchoolsOut said, shell on, in one side out the other, rotate the hook, back through both sides. I leave the hook point buried, shrimp in very soft.
Thanks for all the ■■■■■■■■ I will try all the suggestion and will take pictures and post it here so that we can share good reference for other folks who have same issue…
An off the sand swing type cast will get you plenty of distance and be smooth enough not to sling your bait.
I fish shrimp in the breakers and closer. Smaller pieces maybe 1/2-3/4" long hooked twice. It stays on cause you don’t have to sling it so hard.
Way out I use cut bait or finger mullet. You can let it rip and not loose it.
